The American Society of Newspaper Editors announced today Scott Bosley, its executive director for more than 10 years, will retire at the end of 2009

A search committee is in the process of being formed to find a replacement, according to ASNE President Martin Kaiser, editor of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
During his more than 30 years with Knight Ridder newspapers, Bosley, a West Virginia native, was managing editor of the Akron Beacon Journal, the Detroit Free Press, editor of Knight Ridder Tribune Information Services, editor of The Journal of Commerce, and publisher of the Post-Tribune in Gary, Ind.
