The immortal Shohei Ohtani on Monday, became the mortal Shohei Ohtani on Tuesday, as the Japanese superstar was roughed up for four earned runs by the Blue Jays in six innings of work in Game 4. The Dodgers were soundly defeated, 6-2, as their offense, yet again, pressed the snooze button.

It was a shattering blow to the Dodgers. The series is now tied at two games apiece, but more critically, it guarantees the series will swing back to Toronto for a sixth and possible seventh game.

• The winner of the fourth game of the World Series has gone on to win the Fall Classic 86 times (71.7%), including 83 times (69.1%) under the best-of-seven format. That has been the case in three of the last four years, 16 of the last 22 and 29 of the last 41

It was the 12th home run of the World Series, seven of which have been hit by internationally born players, including Shohei Ohtani (3); Alejandro Kirk (2); Teoscar Hernández (1); and Guerrero (1).

• According to Elias, the seven home runs are tied for the third-most in a single World Series by internationally born players.

• Guerrero’s seven homers are the most in a single Postseason in Blue Jays history.

• Guerrero’s 25 hits in the 2025 Postseason are the most in a single Postseason in Blue Jays history, surpassing Hall of Famer Paul Molitor’s 21 hits in 1993.

• Shohei Ohtani led off with a leadoff walk. His six consecutive plate appearances with a walk are the longest streak in World Series history and matches Corey Seager for the longest streak in Postseason history.

• In his third career Postseason start on the mound, Ohtani turned in 6.0 innings, permitting four earned runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts. The Japanese star became the ninth pitcher in Postseason history to throw at least 6.0 innings with at least six strikeouts in each of his first three career Postseason starts

• With a double in the seventh inning, Ernie Clement extended his hitting streak to 10 games, marking the longest hitting streak of the 2025 Postseason.

• His 10-game hitting streak is the tied for the third-longest in Blue Jays Postseason history within a single Postseason, trailing only a 12-game stretch by Pat Borders in 1992; and 10-game streaks from Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar and Devon White in 1993.

• Clement has hit safely in 13 of his 15 contests this Postseason, batting .393 (24-for-61) with four doubles, a triple, a homer, eight RBI, a walk, 11 runs scored, a .406 on-base percentage, a .541 slugging percentage and a .947 OPS.

• There has not been a save recorded by either team so far in the 2025 World Series.

• Game 4 lasted just two hours and fifty-four minutes (2:54), marking the second game of the Fall Classic under three hours.
