The Dodgers took Game 3 of the 121st World Series over the Blue Jays amidst a seemingly never-ending marathon of a game, lasting over six hours in 18 innings at Dodger Stadium.
Dodger first baseman Freddie Freeman worked his extra inning magic again, hammering a walk-off solo home run to deep center field in the bottom of the 18th, to give the Dodgers the 6-5 win and a 2-1 series lead, with Game 4 scheduled for Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
• It was the longest World Series contest by time (6:39) and innings (18) since Game 3 of the 2018 World Series lasted seven-hours, 20 minutes (7:20), with the Dodgers beating the Red Sox in 18 innings on Max Muncy’s walk-off home run.
• Freddie Freeman ended the game with a walk-off home run to begin the 18th inning, marking the 64th walk-off win in World Series history and the first since Freeman’s walk-off grand slam in Game 1 last year.
• Freeman is the second player in World Series history with multiple walk-off hits, joining Hall of Famer Goose Goslin, who hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th in Game 2 of the 1934 World Series, and a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 6 of the 1935 Fall Classic.
• It was the sixth time ever that the Dodgers won a World Series game in walk-off fashion, joining: 2024 Game 1 (Freeman grand slam in 10th inning).
• The Dodgers six walk-off wins in the World Series are second-most all-time to only the Yankees, who have had 11 walk-off wins in the Fall Classic.
• Freeman, who also hit a walk-off single in Game 1 of the 2020 NL Wild Card Series for Atlanta, is the third player in Postseason history with three career walk-offs, joining Hall of Famer David Ortiz and Carlos Correa.
• According to Elias, Freeman is one of nine players in Baseball history with multiple Postseason walk-offs.
• Freeman tied the game with an RBI single in the fourth inning and now has a hit in 13 of his 14 career World Series games, marking the longest on-base streak of any player in the Majors this October.
• Game 3 marked the second game in Postseason history and the first World Series game that each club had at least 15 hits, joining Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS between the Yankees (22 hits) and Red Sox (15 hits).
• The Blue Jays stranded 19 runners on base, marking the most ever by a single club in a World Series game, surpassing the previous mark of 15 done six times, most recently by the Astros and White Sox in Game 3 of the 2005 World Series.
• Combined, the two clubs stranded 37 runners, marking the most in a World Series game, surpassing the previous record of 30, set in Game 3 of the 2005 World Series (HOU – 15, CWS – 15).
• The Blue Jays had a World Series record 67 at-bats in the game, surpassing the previous mark of 61 by the Dodgers in Game 3 in 2018.

• According to Elias, 44 players (batters & pitchers) were used in tonight’s game (23 by TOR, 21 by LAD), marking the second-most in a World Series game.
• The 19 pitchers used in Game 3 are the most in World Series history, surpassing 2018 when the Red Sox and Dodgers each used nine pitchers.
• The Dodgers used 10 pitchers in tonight’s game, setting a World Series record.
• The Blue Jays used nine pitchers, marking the third time in World Series history that each club used at least eight pitchers in a single game joining Game 3 in 2018 (LAD – 9, BOS – 9) and Game 3 in 2005 (CWS – 9, HOU – 8).
• With a single in the fourth inning, Ernie Clement extended his hitting streak to nine games, marking the longest hitting streak of the 2025 Postseason.
• His nine-game hitting streak is the fourth-longest in Blue Jays Postseason history within a single Postseason, trailing only a 12-game stretch by Pat Borders in 1992; and 10-game streaks from Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar and Devon White in 1993.
• Shohei Ohtani went 4-for-4 and Teoscar Hernández went 4-for-8, marking the first time a pair of teammates had at least four hits in a World Series game since Corey Seager and Justin Turner each had four hits for the Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2020 Fall Classic.

• Ohtani became the second player all-time with four extra base hits in a single World Series game.
• His four extra-base hits are the most in a World Series game since Pablo Sandoval launched three home runs for the Giants in Game 1 of the 2012 Fall Classic.
• Ohtani is the first player in Postseason history with multiple home runs, multiple doubles and multiple walks in a single game and just the second player ever to reach those marks in Baseball history, joining Jim Edmonds, who achieved the feat in the regular season on June 28, 2003.
• He became the first player to be issued four intentional walks in a Postseason game.
• Ohtani’s eight home runs are tied for the most by a Dodger in a single Postseason matching Corey Seager (8 HR in 2020).
